Crispy Pork Hock Recipe

This Crispy Pork Hock recipe is a tasty and simple way to enjoy a traditional pork dish. Seasoned pork is roasted until crispy, then glazed with a sweet and savory sauce. It's ideal for a special occasion or a weeknight meal.

Ingredients

Time Needed

  • Prep Time: 10 minutes
  • Cook Time: 2 hours, 15 minutes
  • Total Time: 2 hours, 25 minutes

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
  • Using paper towels, pat the pork hock dry and season with salt and pepper.
  • In an oven-safe skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  • Cook, stirring occasionally, until the pork hock is browned on all sides, about 10 minutes.
  • Place the skillet in the oven for 15-2 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 75°C.
  • Make the glaze while the pork is roasting by combining the garlic, soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, and water in a small saucepan.
  • Cook for 5-7 minutes, until the glaze has thickened, over medium heat.
  • When the pork is done, remove it from the oven and brush it with the glaze all over.
  • Return the pork to the oven for another 10-15 minutes, or until the glaze has caramelized and the meat is crispy.
  • Remove from the oven and set aside for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
