Braised Pork with Sweet Soy Sauce Recipe

This Braised Pork with Sweet Soy Sauce is a hearty and delicious dish that is ideal for any occasion. In a rich and savory sauce made of sweet soy sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and brown sugar, the pork belly is cooked until tender and flavorful. It's an excellent dish for a family dinner or a special occasion.

Instructions

  • Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat.
  • Cook until the pork belly is browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes.
  • Take the pork out of the pot and set it aside.
  • Cook the onion, garlic, and red chilies in the pot for 5 minutes, or until the onion is translucent.
  • Stir in the sweet soy sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, and water to combine.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil with the pork back in it.
  • Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 2-3 hours, stirring occasionally, until the pork is tender and the sauce has thickened.
  • Serve with steamed vegetables and rice.
